It watches for movement caused by wind and tells your Somfy RTS motor to retract. Part 1816081 protects awnings, exterior solar screens and pergolas, and it keeps working when no one is home.
How does it detect wind?
The sensor reads motion in three directions: horizontal, vertical and lateral. When the movement passes the threshold you set, it sends the retract command over RTS radio.
How is it powered?
It runs on 2 LR3 (AAA) batteries, so the sensor needs no wiring at the awning. A built-in indicator warns you when the batteries run low.
What is the radio range?
Somfy rates the range at 164 ft in open field on 433.420 MHz. Walls and structures shorten that distance, so mount the sensor with a clear path to the motor or receiver. The housing carries an IP 44 rating.
Which motors and receivers does it work with?
It pairs with Somfy RTS motors and receivers. To add wind protection to a Somfy standard wired motor, the Universal RTS Receiver (1810627) provides RTS control and accepts Eolis sensors.
