The Altus RTS motor is Somfy's universal tubular motor for rolling shutters, retractable awnings, and exterior screens, with a radio receiver built in so it runs on Somfy RTS remotes and wall switches with no separate receiver to install.

What is the Altus RTS 525A2 used for?
Part 1043423 is Somfy's universal tubular motor for rolling shutters, retractable awnings and exterior screens. Its built-in RTS radio receiver removes the need for an external receiver or control wiring, and you set and adjust limits from a handheld RTS remote.
What torque, speed and tube size does it take?
Somfy rates the 1043423 at 25 Nm of torque and 20 rpm, with a noise level of 56 dB. It has a star head and fits tubes with an inside diameter of 1.85 in or larger.
What power does it need?
It runs on 120V/60Hz AC, with an operating range of 108 V to 132 V, a rated current of 1.6 A and a 180 W draw while running. It ships with a removable 9.84 ft, 3-wire SJTW cable, and you can plug it in or hardwire it.
Which remotes and switches work with it?
Any Somfy RTS transmitter, including the Telis 1 and Telis 4 RTS Patio remotes (1810643, 1810645), the Situo 5 Channel RTS Pure remote (1870575) and DecoFlex RTS wall switches (1810813, 1810897). It holds up to 12 channels, and Somfy rates RTS range at 656.2 ft in open field.
Can it retract an awning when the wind picks up?
Yes, with a Somfy RTS wind sensor. The Eolis 3D WireFree RTS wind sensor senses wind-generated movement and signals the motor to retract the awning. It comes in white (1816081), black (1816082) and off-white (1816083).
Can I control it from an app or on a schedule?
Yes. A TaHoma Switch hub (1871037) adds app and voice control for RTS motors, and the Telis 1 Chronis RTS timer (1805237) runs the motor on a set schedule. RTS is one-way radio, so the app sends commands but cannot report position.
