Common questions
What does the Altus RTS 506S2 motor do?
Part 1033399 is a Somfy LT50 tubular motor with a built-in RTS radio receiver. Somfy lists it for exterior solar screens, interior shades, projection screens and retractable insect screens. Radio control means no control wiring runs back to the motor.
What torque and speed does it deliver?
Somfy rates the Altus RTS 506S2 at 6 Nm of torque and 38 rpm. It has a star head and fits roller tubes with an inside diameter of 1.85 in or larger.
What power does it need?
It runs on 120V/60Hz and draws 110 W in operation and 0.5 W on standby. Somfy supplies it with a 9.84 ft SJTW 3-wire cable. The IP 44 rating suits it to exterior screen installs.
Which remotes and switches work with it?
Any Somfy RTS transmitter works, including the Situo 1 (1870571), Situo 5 (1870575), Telis 16 (1811081), DecoFlex 5 Channel wall switch (1810813) and Telis 1 Chronis timer (1805237). The motor stores up to 12 transmitters, with an open-field range of 656.2 ft.
Can I control it from a phone or voice assistant?
Yes. Pair the motor with a Somfy TaHoma hub for app, schedule and voice control. RTS is one-way radio, so the app sends commands but does not report the screen's position.
Which crowns, drives and brackets fit it?
It uses standard LT50 hardware. Matching parts on this page include the LT50 2.5 in Round Crown and Drive Set (9012231), the Octagonal LT50 70mm Crown and Drive Set (9012234) and the LT50 Star Head Motor Bracket (9410651).
