Part 1816083 is a battery-powered Somfy RTS sensor that responds to the movement wind creates in an awning. When that movement grows too strong, it sends a retract command, so the awning stays protected even when no one is home.
How does it detect wind?
The Eolis 3D reads movement in three directions: horizontal, vertical and lateral. Somfy designed it to trigger automatic retraction when wind-generated movement becomes too strong for the awning.
What batteries does it use?
It runs on two LR3 (AAA) 1.5 V batteries and needs no wiring. A built-in indicator alerts you when the batteries need to be replaced.

Somfy rates the range at 492.15 ft in open field on 433.420 MHz. The sensor is rated IP 44 and works from -4 °F to 140 °F. It measures 6.02 in by 1.5 in by 0.98 in.
