What does the DecoFlex WireFree RTS 1 Channel switch control?
It controls one Somfy RTS motor or one group of RTS motors from the wall. Its buttons cover Up, Down, Stop and the Somfy my favorite position. Somfy lists it for awnings, exterior solar screens, blinds, draperies, shades, pergolas and rolling shutters.
Does it need wiring or an electrician?
No. Somfy builds it battery powered and wireless, so you need no electrician or wall box. A replaceable lithium coin cell comes included, and the included bracket lets you mount it beside a light switch or anywhere on the wall.
What comes with the switch?
Part 1810897 includes a mounting bracket, a Decora-style trim plate and adhesive button labels. The Decora-style plate matches the format of standard rocker light switches, so it fits in beside them.
Which colors and sizes does DecoFlex come in?
This part is white. The same 1 channel switch comes in black (1810899) and ivory (1810898). For more shades on one plate, choose the DecoFlex RTS 2 Channel (1811068) or the 5 Channel (1810813).
Can it run the same shade as my remote or hub?
Yes. An RTS motor can store more than one transmitter, so this switch can share a shade with a Situo RTS remote such as the 1 channel (1870571) or with a TaHoma switch (1871037). It transmits on 433.420 MHz.
Can I mount it outdoors?
Somfy rates it IP 20 with an operating range of 41 °F to 104 °F, which suits interior walls. For patio or awning control, a Somfy Telis RTS Patio remote with its water-resistant housing suits outdoor use.
