It controls up to 2 individual Somfy RTS motors or 2 groups from one wall plate. Each channel has Up, Down, Stop and the Somfy my favorite position. Somfy lists it for awnings, exterior solar screens, blinds, draperies, shades, pergolas and rolling shutters.
Does it need wiring or an electrician?
No. Somfy builds it battery powered and wireless, so you need no electrician or wall box. A replaceable lithium coin cell comes included, and you can mount it beside an existing light switch or anywhere on the wall.
What comes in the kit?
Somfy sells part 1811068 as a kit. Along with the switch, you get a mounting bracket, a Decora-style trim plate and adhesive button labels, so you can mark which shade or group each channel runs.
When should I pick the 2 channel over other DecoFlex sizes?
Pick the 2 channel for a room with two shades or two groups, such as sheers and blackouts on the same window. The DecoFlex 1 Channel (1810897) runs a single shade or group, and the 5 Channel (1810813) covers larger rooms.
Can it run the same shades as my remote or hub?
Yes. An RTS motor can store more than one transmitter, so this switch can share shades with a Situo 5 Channel RTS Pure Remote (1870575) or a TaHoma switch (1871037). It transmits on 433.420 MHz.
Do I need to aim it at the shade?
No. RTS radio sends in all directions, so the switch works without a line of sight to the motor. Mount it on an interior wall where the room's shades are in radio range.
