Common questions

What does the DecoFlex WireFree RTS 3 Channel switch control?

It controls up to three Somfy RTS motors, or three groups of motors, from one wall switch. Each channel gives you Up, Down, Stop and the Somfy my favorite position for the shades paired to it.

Does it need wiring or an electrician?

No. The switch runs on an extended-life lithium coin cell, and the cell comes included. You mount it with the included bracket beside a light switch or anywhere on the wall, with no wiring.

What comes in the box?

Part 1811071 includes a mounting bracket, a Decora-style trim plate and adhesive button labels. The labels let you mark each channel by room or window, so anyone in the house knows which button runs which shade.

What frequency and range does it use, and where can it go?

It transmits on 433.420 MHz with a range of up to 65 ft, and you never need to aim it at the shade. Somfy rates its operating range at 41 °F to 104 °F, which suits interior walls.

Can it work with my remote or smart hub?

Yes. A Somfy RTS motor stores up to 12 transmitters, so this switch can share a shade with a Situo 5 Channel RTS remote (1870575) or a TaHoma Switch hub (1871037) for app and voice control.

What if I need a different number of channels?

DecoFlex WireFree RTS also comes in 1 channel (1810897), 2 channel (1811068), 4 channel (1811074) and 5 channel (1810813) versions in white. For an exterior wall, the DecoFlex Surface 5 Channel (1871025) carries an IP 54 rating.
