Genuine Somfy RTS remotes and handheld transmitters for motorized shades, blinds and awnings - Telis, Situo, Chronis and Simu HZ, in 1, 4, 5 and 16-channel versions.
A channel drives one shade or a whole group, set at programming time. Soliris versions add a sun-sensor override. Somfy publishes 656.2 ft of open-field range at 433.420 MHz, and normal construction cuts that considerably.
How to choose a Somfy RTS remote
Start with the channel count
A channel is one address. One channel drives one shade, or one group of shades programmed together, so a five-channel Telis can run four separate rooms plus an all-call. Somfy motors hold up to 12 transmitters each, which means several remotes and a wall switch can all control the same shade with no hub arbitrating between them.
Count the groups you want, then add one for the whole house. Most residential jobs land on a 1-channel for a single room and a 5-channel for everything else.
Telis, Situo, Smoove and Chronis
Telis and Situo are the handheld transmitters. Situo is the newer body, offered in Pure, Silver and Patio finishes. Telis carries the multi-channel and Soliris variants. Chronis adds a clock so shades move on a schedule with no hub involved. Smoove puts the same radio in a wall-mounted decorator plate.
Soliris versions pair with an Eolis or Soliris sensor so the shade reacts to sun and wind on its own. That is the only route to automatic behavior on RTS without a TaHoma hub.
What RTS range really means
Somfy publishes 656.2 ft open field at 433.420 MHz. Walls, foil-backed insulation and metal blinds cut that figure hard, and a real house sees a fraction of it. RTS is one-way, so the remote never learns whether the shade moved. On a long run or through masonry, an RTS repeater solves the problem that a second remote will not.
Match the radio, not the brand
An RTS remote drives RTS motors only. Zigbee motors need Ysia remotes or a TaHoma hub, and the two ranges look alike on the shelf. Check the motor part number against its spec sheet before ordering controls. Every listing on this page states the protocol it speaks.

Common questions
Will any Somfy RTS remote work with my motor?
Any RTS remote pairs with any RTS motor, because they all use the same 433.420 MHz rolling-code protocol. What differs is channel count and form factor. A Somfy motor stores up to 12 transmitters, so you can add remotes to an existing shade without removing the ones already paired.
What is the difference between Situo and Telis remotes?
Both are handheld RTS remotes. Situo is the compact everyday remote in 1 and 5 channel versions. Telis adds higher channel counts, up to 16, and variants with sun sensors or timers built in. Choose Situo for a room and Telis when one remote has to drive a whole floor.
How many shades can one channel control?
There is no fixed limit. A channel is a broadcast address, so every motor paired to it moves together. Use one channel per shade where you want individual control, and a separate group channel for the whole bank. Most 5-channel remotes are set up as four shades plus an all-together channel.
Will an RTS remote control a Zigbee motor?
No. RTS and Zigbee are different protocols on different frequencies, and the receiver is built into the motor at manufacture. A Zigbee motor needs a Ysia remote or a TaHoma hub. Check the protocol in the product title before ordering controls.
Do I need a hub to use an RTS remote?
No. RTS remotes talk directly to the motor with nothing in between, which is one of the protocol's real advantages. A TaHoma hub is only needed for app control, schedules, scenes or voice assistants. Basic up, down and favourite position work with the remote alone.
