A battery-operated, wireless outdoor sun sensor that automatically sends RTS commands to close exterior awnings, screens, or shutters when sunlight exceeds a set threshold, and retracts them again once light levels drop. Compatible with RTS motors/receivers and Simu HZ technology; a Situo Soliris transmitter is required to activate the sun function on a receiving motor.

It reads the sun's intensity outdoors and sends RTS commands to Somfy powered exterior products. Part 9020412 runs on batteries, so it needs no wiring, and Somfy backs it with a 5 year warranty.
What else do I need to make it work?
Somfy requires a Situo Soliris transmitter to activate the sun function on the motor. The store carries the Situo 5 Soliris RTS Pure II (1870579), which also runs the shade or awning by hand when you want to override the sensor.

It works with Somfy RTS motors and receivers. Somfy lists awnings, exterior solar screens, pergolas, rolling shutters, interior blinds, draperies and shades as applications. One example is the Somfy 550R2 RTS CMO awning motor (1051466).

Yes. Somfy offers eight levels of sun threshold, so you choose how much sunlight it takes before the sensor sends its command. That lets you tune the response to the window, the fabric and the exposure.
Is it built for outdoor mounting?
Yes. Sunis is an outdoor sensor with an IP 34 rating. It transmits on 433.420 MHz, the same RTS radio frequency that Somfy RTS motors, remotes and wall switches use.
How do I add wind protection for an awning?
Sunis responds to sunlight. For wind, add the Somfy Eolis 3D WireFree RTS Wind Sensor (1816081), which mounts on the awning and signals the RTS motor to retract when it senses strong movement.
