The Somfy 550R2 CMO is an LT50-series 120V wired tubular motor delivering 50 Nm of torque, with the CMO manual override that lets the application be cranked by hand during a power outage. Supplied with a 6 ft 4-wire pigtail cable for connection to wired switches and controls.

It drives exterior awnings and rolling shutters that need high torque. Part 1051014 is an LT50 tubular motor with a Compact Manual Override and a factory-fitted 4-wire pigtail cable for wired control.
What torque and speed does it deliver?
Somfy rates part 1051014 at 50 Nm of torque and 14 rpm. It runs on 120V/60HZ power, draws 2.1 A and 250 W in operation, carries an IP 44 rating and weighs 7.1 lb. Somfy lists a thermal time of 5 min.
What size tube and hardware does it need?
Somfy lists a minimum tube inside diameter of 1.85 in and a motor external diameter of 1.77 in. Order the crown and drive to match your tube, such as the LT50 DS78MM Crown/Drive Set (9012239) or the Octagonal LT50 70mm set (9012234).
How is it wired and controlled?
The motor comes with a 6.56 ft cable carrying 4 wires. Connect it to a Somfy switch built for the AC motor range, such as the Maintained Toggle Switch, Single Pole (1800380). Mechanical limits offer a capacity of 34 turns.
What does the CMO override do?
The Compact Manual Override lets you crank the awning or shutter by hand when power is lost. The CMO head also mounts in CMO brackets such as the Motor Bracket for Sunea CMO RTS, US (9015802).
Is there a radio-controlled 550R2 CMO?
Yes. The 550R2 RTS CMO (1051466) keeps the 50 Nm class and the manual override, and adds a built-in RTS receiver. Somfy remotes, wall switches and the TaHoma app can then run the awning with no control wiring.

Retract and cut power
Retract the awning or screen fully, turn off the circuit and support the roller.

Pull the old motor
Release the motor from its bracket and slide it out of the tube.

Use the set for your tube profile. Line the override eye up with the crank opening.

Wire and set limits
Connect the 4 wires to your up/down switch. Set the stops with the limit screws on the motor head.
