“The perfect motorized system for our drapery installs.”

Somfy Glydea ULTRA 50 WireFree Zigbee Drapery Motor -- heavy drapery, long tracks, no wiring at all.
The Glydea ULTRA 50 WireFree Zigbee is Somfy's battery-powered drapery motor for rooms where power was never run to the window. It moves up to 110 lb of drapery on tracks as long as 36 ft, speaks Zigbee 3.0 with no module to add, and recharges over USB-C roughly once every nine months. At 40 dB it is quiet enough for a bedroom, and it suits retrofit work as readily as new construction because nothing has to be chased into the wall.
Benefits
- Carries up to 110 lb (50 kg) of drapery, the highest capacity of any Somfy WireFree drapery motor.
- Runs tracks up to 36 ft, so wide openings do not force a hardwired motor.
- Zigbee 3.0 is built in, so no separate Zigbee module is needed or wanted.
- Removable rechargeable lithium-ion battery with USB-C fast charging, about nine months per charge on a reference curtain.
- Reports drapery position and battery level back to the TaHoma by Somfy app, so you are not guessing at either.
- Sets its own limits, which takes manual calibration out of the install.
- Soft start and soft stop at 40 dB, with adjustable speed.
- Works with pinch pleat, RippleFold and Accordia drapery.

Common questions
What is the Glydea ULTRA 50 WireFree Zigbee motor?
Part 1246594 is a battery-powered drapery motor for rooms with no power at the window. It moves draperies up to 110 lbs. (50kg), runs on a lithium-ion battery and has Zigbee 3.0 built in. It suits retrofit and new construction, and Somfy backs it with a 5-year warranty.
What are the key specs?
Somfy rates it at 0.7 Nm of torque and 105 rpm, with a noise level of 40 dB. It uses 30 W in operation and 0.31 W on standby, is rated IP 30, weighs 2.28 lb and works between 32 °F and 140 °F.
How long does the battery last, and how do I charge it?
Somfy estimates 1 recharge every 9 months on a reference curtain. The 21.9V lithium-ion battery charges over USB-C with the Somfy USB-C Li-ion Fast Charger (9028923) as a separate purchase. A Replacement USB-C Li-ion Battery (9029424) is also available.
Does it need a separate Zigbee module?
No. Zigbee 3.0 is built into part 1246594, so the add-on Zigbee module used with some other Glydea ULTRA motors is not needed here. Pair it with a Somfy TaHoma switch (1871037) or the version with an Ethernet adaptor (1871038).
Can I control it from my phone or a voice assistant?
Yes. Through the TaHoma switch and the TaHoma by Somfy app, it works with Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Apple HomeKit. Zigbee is two-way, so the app shows drapery position and battery level in real time, and you can adjust the limits.
What drapery styles and track parts does it work with?
Somfy lists pinch pleat and RippleFold applications, with accessories for Accordia. Matching parts in this store include the Glydea ULTRA 50 Drive Pulley (9029481), RippleFold carriers 1780901, 1780902 and 1780903, and Somfy drapery track sold per foot (1780899).
