The 65 ft figure is Somfy's open-field number. Walls, glass and metal framing shorten it in a house. IP 20 carries no water rating, so the remote belongs indoors or under a covered patio roof, while the awning it runs sits out in the weather.
Pairing the Situo 5 to an RTS motor
You need a control that already runs the motor, such as the original remote or wall switch. Somfy publishes these steps in its RTS Pocket Programming Guide for standard RTS motors, including the Altus, Roll Up 28, CL32 and the ST30, ST40 and ST50 lines:
- On the Situo 5, press the channel selection button to pick the channel, 1 to 5. Somfy notes that channel 5 is active once all four LEDs light.
- On the control already programmed to the motor, press and hold the PROG button until the shade jogs.
- Give the PROG button on the Situo 5 a brief press. The shade jogs again to confirm the pairing.
Repeat the three steps on the same channel for each motor you want in a group. Somfy uses the identical sequence to delete a control from a motor.

The my button stops a moving shade and also stores one favorite position per motor. Somfy's steps for setting it:
- Move the shade to the height you want and give my a brief press to stop it there.
- Press and hold my until the shade jogs.
To delete it, send the shade to the my position, then press and hold my for 5 seconds until the shade jogs.

Somfy ships the Situo 5 with a discreet wall holder, so the remote can live on the wall by the door and still lift off for handheld use. A lost or broken holder has a direct replacement, the Somfy Situo II RTS mounting bracket (9028048).
