Short answer: Match the part to the charging family printed for your motor. V2-head Li-ion motors and the external battery pack take the Somfy Lithium-ion Charger (V2 Head) (9025166). USB-C WireFree Zigbee motors take the USB-C Li-ion Fast Charger (9028923). External-battery motors run on the Li-ion pack (9021217) or the AA battery tube (9018685). The Irismo 45 takes its own 25.9V battery (9026476).
Somfy WireFree motors recharge in place, and each Somfy charger, pack and cable fits a defined list of motors. The catch sits in the connector. Somfy has built more than one charging family, and a charger from one family will not serve a motor from another. This guide maps each Somfy charger, cable and battery to the motors Somfy lists for it on its own product pages. Two notes before you order. Somfy lists the Cord Lift TLV25 Zigbee (1246811) against both the V2 accessories and the USB-C charger, so check the port on the unit you have. Somfy's Li-ion motor poster also marks the first Sonesse 30 WireFree (1003128) as a V1 motor head, the V2 Head charger's list does not include it, and Somfy's own store pairs it with the Sonesse WireFree Li-ion Plug-in Charger (9020672). The Lithium-ion Charger (V2 Head) and the motors it serves
The Somfy Lithium-ion Charger (V2 Head) (9025166) covers the widest spread of WireFree products. Somfy lists it for seven embedded Li-ion motors, nine external-battery motors, the Rechargeable Lithium-ion Battery Pack and the Magnetic Rigid Cable (for V2 Li-ion). It plugs into a 100 to 240 V outlet, draws a rated 0.65 A, and holds standby consumption to 0.25 W. Somfy backs it with a 5 year warranty.
On an embedded-cell motor, the charger connects to the motor head and the shade stays on its brackets. On an external-battery motor, the charger serves the pack, and the pack powers the motor. Either way you recharge without taking the shade down.

External battery motors: Li-ion pack or AA battery tube
Somfy builds external-battery versions of the Cord Lift, Tilt 50, Roll Up 28 and Sonesse 28 WireFree motors. These motors take their power through a lead, and you choose what sits on the other end. Somfy lists the same nine external-battery motors for both power sources below.

The Somfy Rechargeable Lithium-ion Battery Pack (9021217) suits a homeowner who wants to stop buying cells. Charge it with the 9025166 charger and it goes back to work. The Somfy 12V DC Reloadable Battery Tube (9018685) suits a window where no outlet sits within reach. Somfy approves the tube for AA lithium batteries only. Alkaline and rechargeable AA cells are off the list.
Neither part belongs on an embedded-cell motor. A Sonesse 28 WireFree RTS (Li-ion) carries its own cell and charges direct from 9025166, while the Sonesse 28 WireFree RTS (External Battery) needs a pack or tube. Read the words in brackets on the motor name.
USB-C WireFree Zigbee motors: fast charger and magnetic adaptor
A second group of Somfy WireFree Zigbee products charges over USB-C. The Somfy USB-C Li-ion Fast Charger with Cable (9028923) ships with its cable and carries UL approval. Somfy lists it for the Sonesse 40 WireFree Zigbee (Li-ion) (USB-C) (1245993), the Glydea ULTRA 50 WireFree Zigbee (1246594), the Top-down Bottom-up 25 and 45 WireFree Zigbee, the Cord Lift TLV25 Zigbee, the USB-C Li-ion External Battery Pack (9028930) and the USB-C Internal Headrail Li-ion Battery (9029224).
The Somfy USB-C Magnetic Adaptor (9028564) turns that USB-C port into a magnetic connection. Somfy lists it for the Glydea ULTRA 50, the Sonesse 40 WireFree Zigbee (USB-C), both Top-down Bottom-up motors and the two USB-C batteries. Leave it fitted, and the charging lead connects magnetically on a drapery head or a recessed headrail.
Keep the two families apart. Other than the Cord Lift TLV25 Zigbee, no motor appears on both the V2 and the USB-C accessory lists.
Cables and magnetic adaptors for hard-to-reach V2 ports
A motor inside a cassette or a deep headrail can hide its charge port. Somfy makes two V2 accessories for that job. Somfy lists both for every V2 Li-ion motor in the first table row, the external-battery motors and the 9021217 pack.
- The Somfy Extension Charging Cable, 8" (For Cassette Applications) (V2 Head) (9021131) brings the charge point out of the cassette so you can reach it without removing fabric.
- The Somfy Magnetic Adaptor (for V2 Li-ion) (9028562) converts the V2 port to a magnetic connection. Somfy describes it as compatible with V2 Li-ion embedded battery motors and the external battery pack.
Pair either one with the 9025166 charger. The USB-C magnetic adaptor (9028564) will not stand in for 9028562, since Somfy lists them for different motors.
Irismo 45 WireFree: battery replacement and charger
The Irismo 45 WireFree RTS drapery motor (1002353) runs on its own pack. The Somfy Replacement 25.9V Rechargeable Li-ion Battery for Irismo 45 WireFree RTS (9026476) fits that one motor, and Somfy lists no other product for it. Somfy names a dedicated charger for the same motor, the Battery Charger for Irismo 45 WireFree RTS (1003080).

Recharge, replace the battery, or rethink the power source
A WireFree motor that slows or stops points you to the power side first. A flat Li-ion cell needs its charger, and an external-battery motor on AA cells needs fresh lithium AAs or a move to the rechargeable pack. Can I replace AA batteries with a rechargeable pack?
Yes, on the external-battery versions. Somfy lists the Rechargeable Lithium-ion Battery Pack 9021217 and the 12V DC Reloadable Battery Tube 9018685 for the same nine motors, including the Cord Lift CL32 RTS, Tilt 50 Through-Shaft, Roll Up 28 V2 and Sonesse 28 WireFree External Battery versions. Charge the pack with 9025166. The tube takes AA lithium cells only.
Does the USB-C magnetic adaptor fit V2 Li-ion motors?
No. Somfy lists the USB-C Magnetic Adaptor 9028564 for USB-C products: Glydea ULTRA 50, Sonesse 40 WireFree Zigbee (USB-C), the Top-down Bottom-up 25 and 45 WireFree Zigbee, and the two USB-C batteries. V2 Li-ion motors take the Magnetic Adaptor (for V2 Li-ion) 9028562, which Somfy lists for 17 V2 products.
Do I need a new battery or a new charger for my Irismo 45?
Both parts are motor-specific. Somfy lists the Replacement 25.9V Rechargeable Li-ion Battery 9026476 for the Irismo 45 WireFree RTS 1002353 only, and names the Battery Charger for Irismo 45 WireFree RTS 1003080 for the same motor. The roller-shade chargers 9025166 and 9028923 do not list the Irismo 45.
