Common questions

What is the Sunea 525A2 RTS CMO motor made for?

Part 1114304 is a 120V tubular motor for cassette, semi-cassette and standard awnings. Somfy rates it at 25 Nm and 20 rpm. It has a built-in RTS radio receiver and a Compact Manual Override (CMO) head, and it ships with an 18 in Fast Connector lead.

Can I operate the awning during a power outage?

Yes. The Compact Manual Override (CMO) head accepts a hand crank, so you can open or close the awning by hand when the power is out. Somfy sells a Sunea RTS CMO override kit for this setup.

Which remotes and wall switches work with it?

Any Somfy RTS transmitter pairs with it, including the Telis 1 Channel RTS Patio Remote (1810643), the Telis 4 RTS Multi-Channel Patio Remote (1810645), Situo RTS Pure remotes (1870571, 1870575) and the DecoFlex 5 Channel RTS Wall Switch (1810813). The motor stores up to 12 transmitters, and Somfy rates RTS range at 656.2 ft in open field.

Can a wind sensor protect the awning?

Yes. The Eolis 3D WireFree RTS Wind Sensor mounts on the awning and sends a retract command over RTS when wind shakes the awning. It comes in white (1816081), black (1816082) and off-white (1816083).

Can I control it from my phone?

Yes. Pair it with a Somfy TaHoma Switch (1871037) to run the awning from the app, set schedules and add voice control. RTS is one-way radio, so the app sends commands but does not report the awning's position.

What are the power and installation specs?

It runs on 120V/60Hz with a rated current of 1.6 A and draws 0 W in standby. Somfy lists IP 44, a minimum tube internal diameter of 1.85 in, electronic limits and a 55 dB noise level. The Sunea CMO RTS Universal Bracket (9015802) mounts this motor.
