Common questions
What is the DecoFlex WireFree Surface RTS 5 Channel?
It is a slim, battery-powered RTS wall switch that mounts on the wall surface. Its five channels each pair with one Somfy RTS motor or a group of motors, so one switch can run five separate shades or zones.
Can I mount it outdoors?
Yes. Somfy rates part 1871025 IP 54, which suits both interior and exterior walls. That makes it a good fit beside a patio door for an awning, pergola, exterior solar screen or rolling shutter.
How does it mount?
It surface mounts with a mounting frame and a snap-on cover, so the install takes no wall box and no wiring. Somfy calls the look a slim floating design, and it sits flat on the wall.
What battery does it use?
It runs on a battery with a 3V minimum voltage. Use non-rechargeable batteries in this switch. With no power line to run, you can place it wherever the shades are in view.
Which Somfy products can it control?
It works with Somfy RTS motors and receivers. Somfy lists it for awnings, exterior solar screens, pergolas, rolling shutters, and interior blinds, draperies and shades. A TaHoma Switch hub (1871037) can run the same motors for app and voice control.
Is there a decorator-style DecoFlex for indoor walls?
Yes. DecoFlex WireFree RTS also comes as a decorator-style switch that sits beside light switches, in 1 channel (1810897), 2 channel (1811068), 4 channel (1811074) and 5 channel (1810813) versions in white.
