Somfy writes the torque into the model code. The 5 or 6 in front names the LT50 or LT60 series, and the digits after it give the torque in newton meters, so a 535A2 delivers 35 Nm and a 6100R2 delivers 100 Nm. Our Somfy model code guide decodes the rest of the name.
Torque and the crank head set the price
Two things move an awning motor up the price table. Higher torque costs more. The CMO head adds the rest.
CMO stands for crank manual override. A Sunea CMO motor accepts a crank eye at the head, so an owner can retract the awning by hand during a power cut or a storm. Compare two 25 Nm motors: the Altus RTS 525A2 lists at $448.59 and the Sunea 525A2 CMO RTS at $558.53. The $109.94 gap buys the crank head plus Sunea's automatic limit re-adjustment, which resets the closed position as the fabric stretches over its first seasons.
The Orea sits between them. The Somfy LT50 Orea RTS 535A2 Cassette Awning Motor (1038173) suits full cassette awnings, where the fabric closes into a housing, at $546.50.
Size the motor before comparing prices
A cheaper motor that stalls on the frame costs more than the right one. Awning projection loads the roller harder than width alone, because the folding arms change the load at the tube. Awning makers publish a motor recommendation for each frame, and that figure is the one to buy against.
Tube size narrows the choice too. Somfy publishes a 1.85 in minimum tube inside diameter for the LT50 Altus RTS 550R2 and 2.37 in for the LT60 motors, so a heavy 80 or 100 Nm motor needs the larger roller. Our LT50 vs LT60 comparison covers that split in detail.

Match the crown and drive to the flat-to-flat size of the octagonal tube, not the corner-to-corner size. Match the bracket to the head. Remote and sensor costs
An RTS awning motor needs one transmitter to program it. The Somfy Telis 1 Channel RTS Patio Remote (1810643) costs $99.95, and Somfy rates it IP 44 with water and shock resistance for outdoor use.
