What is the DecoFlex SDN Keypad V2 8-Button Group Control?
It is a hard-wired, in-wall keypad for Somfy Digital Network (SDN) shading systems. It gives a room a local control point with eight programmable buttons and LED group selection, so one keypad can direct several groups of SDN motors.
Does it need a central controller?
No. Each keypad talks to the intelligent SDN motors on the network, so a stand-alone SDN system runs without a central processor. A single SDN bus connection carries both power and data to the keypad.
How do I program the buttons?
You set it up with Set pro by Somfy configuration software. Each button can send a different command on Press, Release and Hold, and you can export and back up the finished configuration for the job file.
What are the dry contact inputs on the back for?
Part 1871496 has eight dry contact inputs on the back. You can program each one in Set pro by Somfy to send SDN commands, which lets a third-party switch or sensor trigger shade moves.
Which motors does it work with?
It works with Somfy SDN RS485 motors, such as the Sonesse 40 404S2 RS485 SDN Motor (1240562), in stand-alone SDN systems. Somfy lists it for interior blinds, draperies and shades and rates it IP 20.
