What does the SDN PowerConnect Rack-Mount Panel do?
It powers and connects low-voltage Somfy Digital Network motors from an equipment rack. One panel controls eight RS485 DC motors and supports up to 240 feet of power and data wiring to Somfy's low-voltage SDN motors.
How much rack space does it take?
It occupies half of a standard rack unit. Somfy calls this a half-U configuration, which leaves room in the same rack for network and AV equipment.
Which motors does it power?
Somfy lists the Sonesse ULTRA 504 A8 DC RS485 and the Sonesse 30 RS485 24V DC. In this store those are parts 1134022 and 1241144.
Can I test motors at the panel?
Yes. A sequence button lets you test motor operation at the panel. Bus segment status LEDs show power, activity and end of line, which helps confirm wiring during commissioning.
What are the device ports for?
The panel has two device ports isolated from the SDN bus. Its internal power supplies feed those ports, so the panel can power SDN devices along with its motors.
