It is the power and data backbone for Somfy Digital Network (SDN) low-voltage RS485 motors. One jacket carries the motor's power and its data link back to a Somfy Power Panel for SDN or an SDN Power over Ethernet (PoE) Gateway.
What conductors are inside?
Somfy lists a 14 AWG power pair, a 22 AWG stranded, twisted and shielded data triad, and a 24 AWG drain wire. The shielding helps prevent signal corruption and ground loops, and the data side follows the TIA-485 standard.
How long can a cable run be?
Somfy rates installations up to 240 ft, and the cable supports a home-run layout from each motor back to the panel. Plan each run within that limit when you choose the panel location.
