Part 1811253 is a hard-wired, in-wall keypad with 8 programmable buttons. It gives a stand-alone Somfy Digital Network system a local control point and talks to the SDN motors on the network, so no central controller is required.
How are the buttons programmed?
Each button can hold separate commands for Press, Release and Hold. You set up the keypad and its buttons with Set pro by Somfy configuration software.
What are the dry contact inputs for?
The back of the keypad carries 8 dry contact inputs, whatever the button count. You program each input to output SDN commands, so a wired contact closure from another system can trigger shade moves.
How does it connect and get power?
It needs a single SDN bus connection, which carries both power and data. The keypad pairs with Somfy Digital Network RS485 motor systems and an SDN Data Hub or SDN Data Panel.
Which SDN motors and hubs work with it?
It works with Somfy SDN RS485 motors such as the Sonesse 40 406A2 RS485 SDN Motor (1240563). For the network side, the SDN Data Hub V2 (1870951) and SDN Data Panel (1870260) are both sold here.
