Somfy Telis 4 RTS Patio Remote 1810645 Channels and Pairing Guide

Short answer: The Somfy Telis 4 RTS Patio remote (1810645) is a five-channel RTS handheld in a blue and white, water and shock resistant body rated IP 44. Channels 1 to 4 each run one RTS motor or group, and channel 5 lights all four LEDs for a whole-patio group. It reaches 164.05 ft in open field and runs on one CR2430 cell.

Four in the name, five channels in the hand

Buyers searching "telis 4 rts" often stop at the same question: the remote says 4, the spec sheet says five channels. Both are right. Somfy's RTS Pocket Programming Guide shows the Telis 4 with a channel selection button and four LEDs. Channels 1 through 4 each light one LED. Somfy's guide states that the fifth channel is active once all four LEDs light up.

Somfy's product page backs that up: the Telis 4 RTS Patio controls five individual motorized products or five groups. Somfy's channel diagram gives the first four to separate products and assigns channel 5 to group control of the whole set.

That layout suits a typical back deck. Awning on 1, side screen on 2, a second screen on 3, the pergola roof on 4, and the lot on 5.

Products the Telis 4 Patio controls

Somfy lists five application types for reference 1810645: awnings, exterior solar screens, pergolas, rolling shutters and interior window coverings such as blinds, draperies and shades. Any product driven by an RTS motor or an RTS receiver can take it.

Retractable awnings are the natural home. The Somfy Altus RTS 525A2 motor (1043423) and the Sunea 535A2 CMO RTS awning motor (1116321) both pair with it, as does any other Somfy RTS motor. A drop screen on an Altus RTS motor and a pergola on an RTS receiver sit on separate channels of the same remote.

The Patio body earns its place outside. Somfy builds it water and shock resistant and finishes it in blue and white, so it survives a deck table, a pool chair and the odd drop onto pavers. Somfy also suggests the finish for a child's room, where a remote takes the same abuse.

Read the range as an open-field figure. Brick, stucco over metal lath, foil-backed insulation and a metal awning cassette all shorten it. A remote that works from the patio door can fall short from the far bedroom.

Fit check: RTS motors, receivers and sensors

The Telis 4 Patio speaks RTS only. It pairs with RTS tubular motors and with RTS receivers that put a wired motor or a 24V pergola on radio. Zigbee and SDN motors need their own controls, and a plain 4-wire 120V motor needs an RTS receiver before a Telis can drive it.

Check the motor label before ordering. An RTS motor carries "RTS" in its model line, and Somfy's 120V RTS motors use a 3-wire cable where wired 120V motors use 4 wires. Our guide to reading a Somfy motor label decodes the rest.

Awnings need wind protection, and the Telis 4 plays a part there too. The Eolis 3D WireFree RTS wind sensor (1816081) mounts on the awning front bar and retracts the fabric on movement. Somfy's Eolis 3D manual pairs the sensor through a remote that already runs the motor, so select the awning's channel on the Telis 4 first and use that channel for the sensor step.

Pairing the Telis 4 Patio to a working motor

The programming button sits on the back of the remote. Somfy's RTS Pocket Programming Guide uses one sequence to add or delete a control on a standard RTS motor that already answers another remote, and it applies the sequence to one channel (1 to 5) of a multi-channel control at a time.

  1. Press the channel selection button on the Telis 4 until the LED for the channel you want lights.
  2. Press and hold the programming button on the remote that already runs the motor until the product jogs.
  3. Briefly press the programming button on the back of the Telis 4. The product jogs again.
  4. Test up, down and my on that channel before you move on.

Repeat for each product on its own channel. To build the channel 5 group, select channel 5 and pair it to each motor in turn.

Deleting uses the same steps. Start step 2 from a control you plan to keep, then briefly press the programming button on the Telis 4 with the channel you want removed selected. Somfy warns against starting step 2 with the control you intend to delete.

Maestria 50 zip screens and Sunea CMO awning motors carry their own timing in the same Somfy guide, and a motor with no working control needs first-time setup before any remote joins. Those steps differ by motor generation, so open the install guide for your motor in our Somfy spec and install library. The RTS pairing guide covers the common cases.

Setting the my position

The my button recalls one favorite position that the motor stores. On an awning, my can hold a half-out line for afternoon sun. Somfy's sequence for a standard RTS motor:

  1. Run the product to the spot you want, then press my once to stop it.
  2. Press and hold my until the product jogs. The position is saved.
  3. Press my from any stopped position to return there. If the product is moving, press my twice.
  4. To delete it, press my to send the product to the saved spot, then hold my for 5 seconds until it jogs.

Tilt 50 blinds and Li-ion motors have their own notes in the same Somfy guide. Check the motor family first.

Telis 4 or Telis 1 for the patio

Count the outdoor products. One awning and nothing else calls for the Telis 1 RTS Patio remote (1810643), which shares the same housing, battery and Somfy instruction sheet with a single channel. Two or more products that need separate control call for the Telis 4.

The Telis 4 also leaves room to grow. A patio that starts with one awning often gains a screen or a pergola the next season, and the spare channels absorb those without a second remote. The full lineup, indoor Situo models included, sits in our Somfy RTS remotes collection, and the Somfy awning remote guide compares the outdoor options.

Order the Somfy Telis 4 RTS Patio remote (1810645) when a deck carries more than one RTS product. It ships genuine Somfy with the 5-year warranty.

Telis 4 RTS Patio FAQ

Is the Telis 4 RTS a 4-channel or 5-channel remote?

Five. Somfy lists reference 1810645 as a five-channel remote that controls five individual products or five groups. The remote shows four LEDs. Channels 1 to 4 each light one LED, and Somfy's RTS Pocket Programming Guide states that the fifth channel is active once all four LEDs light. Somfy's diagram assigns that fifth channel to group control.

Does the Telis 4 Patio work with my Somfy awning motor?

It works with any Somfy RTS motor, including Altus RTS, Sunea RTS, Maestria RTS and Sonesse RTS motors. Check the motor label for RTS or a 3-wire 120V cable. Zigbee and SDN motors need their own controls, and a wired 4-wire motor needs an RTS receiver before this remote can drive it.

Telis 4 RTS Patio battery: which cell does it take?

Somfy lists a CR2430 3 V lithium coin cell for the Telis 4 RTS Patio, reference 1810645, the same cell the Telis 1 Patio uses. Fit a fresh CR2430 once range drops or a channel stops answering from the usual spot. A battery swap leaves the pairing in place, because each motor stores the remote's address.

Telis 4 RTS Patio range: how far does it reach?

Somfy publishes 164.05 ft in open field at 433.420 MHz. Real houses see less. Masonry, foil-backed insulation, stucco over metal lath and metal awning cassettes cut the signal. If one product answers only from close range, an RTS repeater near that motor fixes the gap where a second remote will not.
