Short answer: The Somfy Power Distribution Enclosure Kit, 10 Motor (1870192) is the power distribution panel for up to ten 24V DC shade motors. One 120V, 60 Hz circuit drawing 5.3 A max feeds ten fused Class 2 outputs at 24V DC, 2 A each. It runs Sonesse 30 RTS, DCT, Zigbee and RS485 motors, the Sonesse ULTRA 504 A8 DC RTS and Irismo 35 (Mini DC).
Six to ten low-voltage shades on one circuit
A single 24V motor runs fine off a plug-in transformer at the window. Put eight shades across a living room wall and that plan turns into eight transformers, eight outlets and eight wall warts behind the drapery. The Somfy 24V Power Distribution Enclosure, 10 Motors (1870192) moves that power into one grey box in a closet, a basement or an equipment room, with a home run of two-conductor cable out to each shade.
Somfy builds the kit in four sizes. The 10-motor version covers the common middle of a residential job: a great room plus a kitchen, or one floor of bedrooms. Somfy calls it a power distribution enclosure kit, and plenty of installers call it a power distribution panel. The right size is the next one up from your motor count, so a seven-shade job still lands on the 10-motor box with three spare outputs for a later room.

The 2 A per output matters for sizing. Somfy's Low-Voltage Databook lists the Sonesse 30 at 0.8 A nominal and 1.8 A at start, so one Sonesse 30 sits inside one output with headroom. Plan one motor per output.
Motors Somfy lists for the enclosure
Somfy names the 24V DC Sonesse 30 line first. The Somfy Sonesse 30 RTS 24V DC motor (1241142) is the usual pick for a bank of radio-controlled roller shades: 2 Nm of torque in tubes from 1.13 in inside diameter. Its power pigtail (9020260) ships with the motor, and Somfy's wiring detail lands it on the enclosure with pin 1 as positive on the white/black wire and pin 2 as negative on the white wire.
The Somfy Sonesse 30 DCT 24V DC motor (1241146) takes the same 2-pin power connection plus a 4-pin data connector for a wired switch. The rest of the list:

The enclosure supplies 24V DC only. Line-voltage motors such as the LT50 and Sonesse 40 120V families wire to a 120V circuit and do not connect here, and the 12V WireFree motors run on their own battery and charger.
Wiring the enclosure to each shade
Somfy prints one rule in capitals on the kit guide: only a licensed electrician connects incoming power and energizes the circuit. Book that trade for the 120V feed and the first power-up. The low-voltage runs to the shades come after.
Each output feeds one motor on a two-conductor cable. Size the wire to the longest run:
- Measure the cable path from the enclosure to the farthest motor head, including the vertical drops.
- Under 100 ft, 18 AWG meets Somfy's limit. From 100 to 150 ft, step up to 16 AWG.
- On DCT jobs past 150 ft, Somfy's DCT wiring detail allows 240 ft on 14 AWG.
- Match polarity at the motor end: positive to pin 1, negative to pin 2.
Pull each run back to the closet before the drywall closes. Somfy rates the box NEMA Type 1 for indoor use, so mount it inside the house, clear of a patio or outdoor kitchen. The kit includes knockouts for conduit and an LED on each output that shows its power status, a fast first check when one shade stops answering.
RTS, DCT or RS485 control from the same box
The enclosure carries power. Control rides on the motor's own technology. RTS and Zigbee motors take their commands by radio, so the two power conductors are the only wiring they need. Pair remotes the usual way; our guide to pairing a Somfy RTS remote covers that step.
DCT motors add a wired switch. Somfy's DCT wiring detail runs the 4-pin data connector to the Decorator Sonesse 30 dry contact switch, the Somfy Dry Contact Open, Close, Stop Wall Switch in white (1800219), with an ivory version (1800220).
RS485 jobs on the Somfy Sonesse 30 RS485 24V DC motor (1241144) use Somfy's ST30 V2 RS485 detail: a 5-pin connector carrying power and RS485 data, with each enclosure output serving one keypad or one motor. Limits on those motors get set with the Somfy RS485 Motor Limit Setting and Address Reader Tool (9017142), which Somfy lists for the Sonesse 30 RS485. Picking 5, 10, 15 or 20 outputs
Somfy sells the same design in four capacities. The 5 and 10 motor kits share the 12.125 x 12.125 in footprint. The 15 and 20 motor kits grow to 15.125 x 18.125 in, both 6.1875 in deep. Input current scales with outputs:

Somfy 10-motor power enclosure questions
Can I run two motors from one output?
Plan one motor per output. Somfy rates each of the ten outputs at 24V DC and 2 A max, and its RS485 wiring detail states one keypad or one motor per output. A Sonesse 30 draws 0.8 A nominal and 1.8 A at start per Somfy's Low-Voltage Databook, so a second motor on the same output would exceed that rating at start.
Does the enclosure work with 12V WireFree motors?
No. The kit outputs 24V DC, and Somfy lists it for 24V DC motors: Sonesse 30 RTS, DCT, Zigbee and RS485, the Sonesse ULTRA 504 A8 DC RTS and the Irismo 35 (Mini DC). WireFree motors run on 12V batteries with their own chargers, wands or packs, so they stay off this panel.
How far can the motor be from the enclosure?
Somfy's kit guide sets 150 ft on 16 AWG cable and 100 ft on 18 AWG, measured along the cable path to the motor head. Its DCT wiring detail adds 240 ft on 14 AWG. Measure the longest run first, including vertical drops, then pick one gauge for the whole job so the pull stays simple.
Who should install the power distribution enclosure?
Somfy's guide states that only a licensed electrician may connect incoming power and energize the circuit. The 120V feed belongs to the electrician. The 24V DC outputs are Class 2 per NEC, and the LED on each output confirms power status once the box is live, a quick check before you test each motor.
