How many blinds?

Each blind gets its own motor. Buy 3 or more for 5% off the motors, 6 or more for 10% off.

Match your headrail

Take the blind down, pop off the end cap, and look at the metal headrail from the end. All three are 2-1/4 in wide. The height and the bottom tell them apart. The adaptor shown is what holds the motor inside it.

Match your tilt rod

The tilt rod is the metal bar running the length of the headrail. Check its shape at the end, then measure across the flat sides. The adaptor snaps onto the rod and lets the motor turn it.

Common questions

Will this kit fit my blinds?

Somfy builds the Tilt 50 for indoor 2 in horizontal blinds in wood, faux wood, composite or aluminum. The blind needs a pull cord for lifting and a metal headrail with the tilt rod running down the middle. 2-1/2 in slats, cordless blinds, 1 in mini blinds and vertical blinds need a different solution.

How do I tell which headrail I have?

Remove one blind, pop off the end cap and look at the headrail from the end. All three Somfy styles are 2-1/4 in wide. A flat bottom 1-1/2 in tall is low profile (9025743), a ridge along the bottom is the V-groove style found on faux wood blinds (9025739), and a flat bottom 2 in tall is gutter (9025742).

Which tilt rod adaptor do I need?

Match the shape at the end of the rod and measure across the flat sides. Somfy makes square 4 mm, 6 mm and 6.4 mm (1/4 in), hexagon 5 mm, 5.5 mm and 6 mm, and a 4 mm D-shape adaptor. 1/4 in square is the most common.

What powers the motors?

Each Tilt 50 WireFree RTS motor runs on its own 12V rechargeable lithium-ion pack (9021217) with wall brackets. One Somfy charger (9025166) charges up to six packs, one at a time.

Do I need a new remote?

No. The motors pair to any Somfy RTS remote or wall switch you already own. For a new setup, the Situo 1 RTS runs every blind together and the Situo 5 Variation RTS runs up to five groups with a scroll wheel for exact slat angle.

How does the kit discount work?
