Common questions
What comes in this bundle?
You get two genuine Somfy parts: the rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack (9021217) and the plug-in lithium-ion charger (9025166). Somfy lists the charger with a 6 ft cable. Together they let a WireFree external-battery motor run on rechargeable power.
Which motors does the battery pack power?
Somfy lists it for its WireFree external-battery motors, including the Roll Up 28 WireFree RTS V2 (1241162), Cord Lift WireFree CL32 RTS (1002422), Cord Lift WireFree TLW25 RTS (1003294), Tilt 50 WireFree Through-Shaft RTS (1240276), and the Zigbee Cord Lift 25 (1241780) and Tilt 50 (1241783).
What are the battery specs?
The pack is a 12V DC lithium-ion battery with a 2600 mAh capacity. It connects to the motor as an external pack, and you recharge it with the shade still hung in the window.
Does it replace disposable batteries?
Yes. Once the motor runs on this pack, you recharge it with the included charger instead of buying and swapping disposable batteries. Somfy backs both the battery pack and the charger with a 5-year warranty.
Can I buy extra batteries or chargers?
Yes. The battery pack (9021217) and the charger (9025166) are each sold on their own. Add packs for more shades, and match the number of chargers to how many packs you want to top up at the same time.
Does it work with motors that have a built-in lithium-ion battery?
This pack is built for Somfy's external-battery WireFree motors. Motors with a built-in lithium-ion battery, such as the Sonesse 30 WireFree Li-ion RTS (1003128), charge at the motor and do not need a separate pack.
