Common questions
What does the Somfy Glydea Straight Arm Kit (1780947) do?
This genuine Somfy accessory is the straight arm kit for one-way opening draperies on the Glydea system. Somfy's Drapery Databook lists it for one-way draws, where the drapery travels to one side of the track.
Which drive pulley does it pair with?
Somfy specifies this kit for use with the Glydea Drive Pulley (1780945). Order the two together when you build or rebuild a one-way opening Glydea track, so every part matches the hardware the system was engineered around.
What if my drapery opens from the center?
Center-opening draperies call for a different part. Somfy offers the Straight Arm Kit for center opening Glydea track (1782321), and the Somfy Overlap Arm Kit (1782320) covers both center opening and one-way opening layouts.
Which track and carriers go with this kit?
It works with Glydea track, such as Somfy Drapery Track Only, sold per foot (1780899). For a ripple-fold look, choose Somfy RippleFold carriers at 80% (1780903), 100% (1780902) or 120% (1780901) fullness, paired with Somfy Ripple Snap Tape (1782542).
Which brackets mount the track?
Somfy offers wall and ceiling options for Glydea track. Choose the 4.5 in to 6.25 in Adjustable Wall Mount Bracket (1780909), the 8.75 in to 10.25 in Double Adjustable Wall Mount Bracket (9025622), or the white Swivel Ceiling Bracket (1780906), which curved tracks require.
Can I use it to replace worn hardware?
Yes. Genuine Somfy part 1780947 is a direct replacement for worn or missing straight arm hardware on a one-way opening Glydea drapery. If the carrier also needs attention, the Somfy Glydea Heavy Duty Master Carrier (1781344) fits the same system.
