Somfy Glydea drapery track

Collection: Somfy Drapery Track & Hardware

The components that turn a Glydea motor into a finished drapery system: track cut to length, RippleFold carriers, master carriers, arm kits and mounting brackets.

Track is sold per foot with a 16 ft minimum and each length states its bracket count. Carrier fullness (80%, 100% or 120%) sets the wave depth and how many carriers a width needs.

Ordering Glydea track and hardware

Track is sold by the foot

Glydea track cuts to length and sells per foot with a 16 ft minimum. Each length states the number of brackets it needs, and skimping on brackets is what makes a long run sag and bind. Measure the finished opening plus the stack-back, then add the overlap if the panels close in the center.

Carrier fullness sets the look and the count

RippleFold carriers come in 80, 100 and 120 percent fullness. The percentage sets how deep the wave sits and how many carriers a given width takes, so it changes the order quantity as well as the appearance. Decide the fullness with the client before counting carriers.

The parts that finish the job

A master carrier connects the drape to the belt. An arm kit handles center-opening or one-way-opening configurations. Ceiling and wall brackets mount the track. Drive pulleys, return hooks and rotating eye runners complete the drive end.

Size-specific parts do not interchange

Glydea 35 and Glydea 60 hardware are separate. Rotating eye runners, drive pulleys and return hooks are made for one size, and fitting a 60 part to a 35 track is the error we see corrected most often after delivery. The ULTRA 50 WireFree has its own drive pulley and return hook again. Every listing names the size and the motor it serves.

If a compatibility panel shows a part that looks wrong for your track size, call 859 414 6872 before ordering.

Common questions

How many brackets does a drapery track need?

Roughly one every two feet, and every track length we sell states its bracket count in the product title. A 10 ft track needs six and a 20 ft track needs eleven. Underbracketing is what causes a track to sag and bind years later.

What is the difference between RippleFold 80, 100 and 120?

The fullness of the fabric, set by carrier spacing. 80 percent uses 5 carriers per foot, 100 percent uses 6 and 120 percent uses 7. More fullness means a deeper wave and more fabric, and the carrier count is what you order.

Can I splice tracks for a wider opening?

Yes, with the heavy duty straight rail joint made for it. The joint keeps the two sections aligned so carriers pass without catching. For very wide runs, check the motor's weight rating against the finished drapery, not just the track length.

Does Glydea track work with an Irismo motor?

Yes. Irismo uses the same Glydea track, drive pulley, carriers, master carrier and belt. Only the motor head and the power source differ, so an existing Glydea track can take a battery motor without replacing the hardware.

What is a master carrier for?

It is the carrier the belt attaches to, so it is the one that actually pulls the drapery along the track. On heavy drapery a heavy duty master carrier is worth specifying, because it takes the whole load that the motor applies.
