Common questions
What is the Momentary Surface Mount Key Switch 2001548?
The 2001548 is a wired key switch that mounts on the wall surface. Somfy lists it for rolling shutter applications. Momentary action means the shutter runs only while the key stays turned, so the operator watches the shutter through its full travel.
Can I install the 2001548 outdoors?
Somfy rates the 2001548 key switch at IP54, which protects against dust and water splashes. That rating suits sheltered exterior walls next to a rolling shutter. For exposed spots that take direct rain, consult your installer about added shelter or a different control.
How big is the key switch?
Somfy lists the 2001548 at 2.89 in long, 1.77 in wide and 2.89 in high. It comes in white and mounts on the surface, so you do not need a recessed wall box. Plan for the wire run to reach the switch location.
Does the 2001548 work with radio motors?
Somfy lists the 2001548 under wired technology. It sends a direct switched signal, so it suits wired rolling shutter motors and controls. Radio-only motors need a radio transmitter instead. The switch carries a 5-year Somfy warranty.
