What does the SDN PoE Gateway (1860326) do?

It powers and controls Somfy 24V RS485 shade and drapery motors from one Power over Ethernet connection. A standard Cat 5e or Cat 6 UTP cable carries both power and data to the gateway, which then feeds the motors.
