The RI3M relay controller lets one switch or control signal drive up to three Somfy AC tubular motors together. Somfy AC motors must never be wired in parallel directly -- the RI3M provides isolated relay outputs per motor so grouped shades, screens, or shutters move together without damaging the motors' limit switches.

What does the RI3M relay do?

Part 2005719 lets one wired control run up to three Somfy 120V AC tubular motors together. Each motor gets its own relay output, so grouped shades, screens or shutters move as one without wiring the motors in parallel.

Why not wire three motors to one switch?

Somfy AC motors should never be wired in parallel from a single switch. The RI3M keeps each motor on its own output, which protects the motors while one switch or signal drives the group.

What power does it need, and where does it mount?

It runs on 120V/60Hz AC and comes in a metal box suited to utility and commercial installs. Somfy lists awnings, exterior solar screens, interior blinds and shades, and rolling shutters among its applications.

Which motors can it group?

It suits wired 120V AC motors, such as the 540R2 CMO 4-wire motor (1049026) or the Sonesse 510S2 RH 4-wire motor (1001810). Somfy backs the RI3M with a 5-year warranty.
