What does this cable do?
It carries both power and data between Somfy RS485 motors and the modules they connect to. The cable is 12 ft long, with 4 conductors of 26 AWG wire, an RJ9 plug on one end and an RJ45 plug on the other.
Which motors does it work with?
Somfy lists it for the Sonesse 506S2 RS485 (1002286), Sonesse 510S2 RS485 (1002287), 515S2 RS485 (1002427) and 535A2 RS485 (1002288). These are 120V motors that run on the Somfy Digital Network.
How is it different from the black data-only cable?
This grey cable carries power and data together. Somfy's black RJ9 to RJ45 cables, such as the 8 ft 9018542, carry data and no power. Choose this cable when the connection also needs to deliver power.
What other lengths are available?
Somfy makes this power and data cable in 2.5 ft (9018545), 8 ft (9018546) and 24 ft (9018548) lengths as well. Pick the length that reaches from the motor to its module without a lot of slack.
